5. Bring Your Own Key (BYOK) AI Capabilities
The App provides AI-powered cognitive assistance including simplified explanations (ELI5), key bullet point summaries, real-world analogies, and active recall study decks (flashcards). To use these features, you must supply your own API Key (BYOK) for a supported provider. All summaries, explanations, analogies, and flashcards are processed directly between your device and the Developer API endpoints. The results are provided on an "as is" basis, and readHD does not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or usefulness of any AI-generated contents.
6. Modifications to Terms
We reserve the right to modify these Terms of Service at any time. Your continued use of the App following any changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated terms.
7. Contact Information
If you have any questions about these Terms, please contact us at readhdsupport@gmail.com.
8. Refund Policy & Sales Final
All purchases of premium tiers, including the Sprint Plan (3 Months), the Annual Focus Plan (1 Year), and the Lifetime Pass (Forever), are processed natively by platform app stores (Apple App Store or Google Play). All transactions are 100% final, and readHD does not provide refunds under any circumstances. If you require a billing adjustment or store credit, you must submit a claim directly through the customer support channels of your respective platform operator (Apple or Google).
Privacy Policy
Your privacy is our absolute priority. This Privacy Policy describes how readHD handles your information.
1. Local-First Data Principle
readHD is built on a strict local-first architecture. This means:
- No Personal Data Harvesting: We do not collect, capture, store, or transmit your custom nickname, bookmarks, highlighted text segments, ADHD brain dumps, or reading history.
- Secure On-Device Storage: All your reading progress, imported books, notes, and local AI flashcards are saved strictly within the secure application sandbox container on your physical device.
2. Device Resource Permissions
To provide our cognitive reading features, the App requests access to:
- Device Accelerometer: Used strictly on-device to recognize shake gestures to launch the ADHD Brain Dump interface. No motion sensor data is uploaded or logged.
- System Text-to-Speech (TTS): Dictation features utilize your operating system's native voice synthesizer. All voice conversion occurs locally on-device.
3. Purchases & Transactions
We use Apple App Store and Google Play Billing services to process premium subscriptions. Purchases are bound to your Apple ID and Google Play account respectively, and processed natively by the operating system platform store. No real name, email, or billing address is processed or stored directly by the readHD application.
4. Data Retention & Deletion
Because all data is stored on-device, we cannot access, retrieve, or restore your data. You can delete all your application data at any time by selecting the "DELETE ACCOUNT & DATA" option in the settings panel or by uninstalling the App.
5. Contact Information
For privacy inquiries, please reach out to us at privacy@readhd.app.
